As a rule, sport anglers who want to go fishing in the Netherlands need the so-called VISpas (fishing license). You automatically receive the VISpas when you join an angling club that is a member of one of the angling associations that belong to “Sportvisserij Nederland”. This fishing license allows you to fish in the waters listed in the Common List of Dutch Fishing Waters (VISwateren) or in the free “VISplanner” app with a maximum of two rods and all permitted bait.
A VISpas for our English speaking guests!
As soon as you become a member of the HSV De Bilt fishing club, you automatically receive a VISpas.
This is valid from January 1st to December 31st of the current year.
HSV De Bilt offers the following memberships:
- For children and young people up to the age of 13 there is a youth membership including the JeugdVISpas for €10 per year.
- For all anglers from the age of 14 there is the standard membership incl. the VISpas for €32 per year, with fishing being possible in all waters on the national list.
Children and adolescents do not need a VISpas up to the age of 13 if they:
- fish with only one fishing rod under the supervision of an adult who is in possession of a valid VISpas and the Common List of Dutch Fishing Waters (Gezamenlijke Lijst van Nederlandse VISwateren), OR
- only fish on rivers or shipping canals with a fishing rod and a type of bait defined by the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture.

To get you started fishing today, our

You will receive the official VISpas by post from Sportvisserij Nederland within a month.
Our membership administration is managed by Sportvisserij Nederland, a professional organization that ensures that your VISpas arrives at your home on time.
Automatic payment can also be easily set up for your VISpas so that you don't forget to pay the membership fee in the future and are guaranteed to receive the VISpas on time the following year.
Did you know that paying by direct debit saves you €5 on administration fees? Direct debit can be arranged quickly and easily by sending an email to
ledenadministratie@vispas.nl, stating your VISpas number and your bank details (account number and name of the account holder). When using a transfer form or bank transfer, Sportvisserij Nederland charges an administration fee of €5.

Change of your data
You can cancel your membership
until October 1st before the new calendar year by emailing it to Member Management (email address:
hsvdebilt@gmail.com).
If you cancel your membership after October 1st, you will automatically receive a transfer slip for the new year and will be required to pay the fee.

Night fishing and third rod permit
Are you looking to fish with three rods or at night in 2020? Then order the night fishing and third rod permit as well.
In many waters night fishing is allowed all year round. For this you need, in addition to the VISpas, the night fishing permit (Nachtvistoestemming). If you want to fish with three rods, you need a third rod permit (Derde Hengeltoestemming). You can order both additional permits online via this link. You will then receive a hologram sticker in the mail to be affixed to the back of the VISpas (a combo hologram sticker is available for those who want both additional permits).
The night fishing and third rod permits are valid throughout the calendar year and are strictly personal. If you are a VISpas owner and have more than one VISpas, a one-off purchase of this additional permit(s) is sufficient. The
symbol in VISplanner and in the Common List of Dutch Fishing Waters 2019-2020-2021 show where both permits apply.

Co-fishing permit?
The so-called MeeVIStoestemming (fishing license) is a written permit that a VISpas holder can use to allow another person to fish for a day free of charge in a nationally divided body of water on the common list of Dutch angling waters.
As a member of an affiliated fishing club (VISpashouder), you can take interested family, friends or acquaintances with you free of charge. You can get acquainted with fishing in this way and are not immediately obliged to purchase the VISpas and become a member of a club.
The MeeVIStoestemming is only valid when fishing together with the VISpas owner. The same conditions apply, with the exception that the fish caught by the accompanying person must generally be released again. The co-fishing permit is only valid during the day (1 hour before sunrise up to 2 hours after sunset) and for a maximum of 2 fishing rods.
With the VISpas you can take several companions with you on the same day.
The MeeVIStoestemming only applies to the waters included in the Common List of Dutch Fishing Waters or to the waters listed in the VISplanner for which the VISpas is required.
